Nursing Application Transition Program

1. BIOL 2401 w/lab (A&P I)
2. BIOL 2402 w/lab (A&P II) or BIOL 2404 w/lab (A&P refresher)
3. BIOL 2420 w/lab (Microbiology)
4. ENGL 1301 Composition I
5. PSYC 2314 Human Growth & Development
6. Any 3 credit-hour -Language, Philosophy and Culture
7. RNSG 1209 Introduction to Nursing
8. RNSG 1301 Pharmacology (optional as a pre-requisite course)
9. VNSG or EMSG – 6 credit hours will be used to complete the minimum 60-hour program.

• Successful completion of ALL science courses with a grade of “C” or higher AND minimum science GPA of 2.67.
• ALL science pre-requisite grades and all attempts (within 5 years) will be used to calculate the Science GPA. (One point will be deducted after the 1st Withdraw in these courses.)
• Applicants who have successfully completed a state-approved vocational nursing program within the past five years and hold a current unencumbered license to practice as a vocational nurse in the state of Texas may be eligible for consideration regardless of their prior science GPA.
• ENGL, PSYC, and Language, Philosophy & Culture must be completed with a grade of “C” or higher.

• A. Completed Kilgore College Nursing Application
• B. Submit copies of Transcript(s) from all Colleges/Universities attended; including Kilgore College transcript with your Nursing Application. ***Transcripts must be reviewed and signed off from a Health Science Advisor prior to submitting the Nursing Program Application to the School of Nursing.
• C. TEAS test scores (print and submit the Individual Performance Profile summary page that includes Reading, Math & Science scores).
• D. Students not successful in a previous nursing program must provide a Letter of Good Standing from the previous nursing program Director. A letter can be submitted to nursing@kilgore.edu.
