Kilgore College Workforce Development-Health Sciences is pleased to announce that educational funds are available through the Texas Reskilling and Upskilling through Education (TRUE) Grant Program to students in the following programs:
- Medical Coding
- Nurse Assistant
- Pharmacy Technology
- Phlebotomy
- Sterile Processing
Students enrolled in these continuing education (CE) health science programs can apply for financial aid to cover costs associated with these classes.
The TRUE grant program aims to accelerate the number of students enrolled in high-value, short-term credential opportunities.
“These funds are unique because they are for continuing education workforce training assistance which are programs that generally don’t qualify for financial aid,” said Dr. Tracy Skopek, KC Vice President of Instruction. “With this grant, CE students can benefit by possibly receiving funds to help pay for short-term training leading to a family living wage in high-demand career fields.”
To qualify, students will need to complete a 2023-24 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by visiting www.studentaid.gov and submit an official high school transcript or GED.
