Kilgore College Theatre is proud to present Lauren Gunderson’s “Silent Sky,” directed by guest artist Gloria McLuckie.
The production runs from Dec. 5-8 in the Anne Dean Turk Fine Arts Center, located on the Kilgore campus at 1200 S. Henderson Blvd.
“Silent Sky tells the remarkable true story of Henrietta Leavitt, a pioneering 19th Century astronomer whose discoveries reshaped our understanding of the stars,” said Micah Goodding, KC theatre instructor. “The play highlights both the scientific and societal challenges faced by women, offering a compelling look at determination, intellect and progress.”
KC Theatre will also hold an exclusive performance for local schools and community organizations 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 6. This special event will include an educational presentation and a post-show discussion with the cast and crew, offering students and attendees a deeper exploration of the play’s historical and scientific themes.
