KC Theatre hosting annual high school One Act Play Workshop Feb. 10-14

The Kilgore College Theatre Department will host its annual One Act Play Workshop Feb. 10-14 in Van Cliburn Auditorium on the Kilgore campus, providing high school drama programs with a unique opportunity to prepare for the University Interscholastic Leagueโ€™s statewide theatre competition this spring.

Throughout the week, students from across Texas will perform their one-act plays and receive professional critiques from KC Theatre faculty and Texas Shakespeare Festival staff members

In addition to the workshop experience, students will have the opportunity to tour Kilgore College, including the Texas Shakespeare Festival Center, where they will gain insight into the production process behind one of the stateโ€™s premier professional theatrical festivals.

โ€œWe’re expecting 15 schools on campus, with nearly 300 high school theatre students and educators throughout the week,โ€ said Micah Goodding, KC theatre instructor.

โ€œThe KC Theatre One Act Play Clinic gives high school students a chance to grow their talent right here on our campus. We hope it inspires them to keep pursuing their passion. When theyโ€™re ready for the next step, weโ€™d love to welcome them to Kilgore College to continue their journey.”
