The Kilgore College Human Resources Department accepted the Billy Hibbs Safety Award from Claims Administrative Services (CAS) on Feb. 13.
Frank Crisp, CAS safety representative, presented the award to college representatives in recognition of KCโs commitment to safety and risk management.
The Billy Hibbs Safety Award is presented annually to schools and colleges participating in CASโ workers’ compensation program. It honors institutions that achieve the Lowest Loss Ratio, Most Improved Loss Ratio and Best 3-Year Loss Ratio.
โThis award is a testament to the collective dedication and unwavering commitment of all Kilgore College employees to maintaining a safe and secure workplace,โ said Kara Sharman, HR director.
โIt reflects the conscientious efforts of every team member, whose vigilance and adherence to best safety practices have helped foster an environment where safety is a shared responsibility and a top priority.”
Along with the award, CAS presented the college with the Annie Ozella Jones $500 scholarship that will be awarded to a deserving KC student.
Ozella Jones dedicated 25 years to educating thousands of children at New Boston ISD. The scholarship recipients are encouraged by CAS to follow her advice: โLearn more, then learn even more.โ
