The Kilgore College Department of Music will host the annual Invitational Jazz Festival on April 26 in the Devall Ballroom on the Kilgore campus.
The concert, set for 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 26, will feature an exclusive collaboration between selected high school musicians and the KC Big Band.
High school band directors are invited to submit the names and instruments of selected students who will receive music and audio links in advance to prepare for rehearsals.
Rehearsals for the ensemble will be held on:
- Friday, April 25: 7-9:30 p.m.
- Saturday, April 26: 9-11:30 a.m. and 1:30-4:30 p.m.
“This festival is more than just a performance opportunity,” said Derrick Logozzo, KC’s director of bands. “It’s a chance for students to grow musically by collaborating with peers from other schools and experiencing the challenge of college-level ensemble playing.”
