The Kilgore College Department of Music will present its annual Spring Masterworks Concert on Tuesday, April 29, at 7:30 p.m. in the Van Cliburn Auditorium.
The event will feature the world premiere of “Liberty,” a new musical work commemorating the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II.
The concert will include performances by the KC Chorale, KC Connection, KC Wind Symphony and the East Texas Men in Harmony Barbershop Chorus.
Peter Cunningham, director of choral and vocal studies at KC, said the concert represents an opportunity to bring the community together in reflection and recognition.
“This performance is a meaningful way for our students and community members to honor a pivotal moment in world history through music,” Cunningham said. “We are proud to present this premiere and to collaborate with outstanding local ensembles.”
The event is free and open to the public. No tickets are required.
