Upward Bound

Upward Bound (UB) is a Federal grant program funded by the Department of Education and sponsored locally by Kilgore College. This free college preparatory program is designed to increase the rate at which participants complete high school, and enroll in and graduate from institutions of postsecondary education (college/university).

Apply for the UB program at KC!

Completion of the Upward Bound Application will help us to determine participant eligibility, but it does not guarantee acceptance into the program.

Once our program reaches its target number, the program will be closed for the year. Additional applications will be kept on file for the current school year. Please make sure your application is completely filled in with the appropriate documents attached.

Summer Academic Program

During UB’s six-week Summer Academy, students are provided instruction in math, laboratory science, composition, literature, and foreign language. Students also participate in cultural trips, community service activities, and visit college campuses.
